LEWISPORTE PROFILE
Lewisporte is a small community halfway
between Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor, approximately 35 minutes either
way. Lewisporte is a clean, quiet town in Notre Dame Bay with a population of approximately 3960. Lewisporte has been called "The Gateway to the North"
because the ferry services (both freight and passenger) links Newfoundland to
Labrador, which has given Lewisporte the reputation as a major shipping port
with one of the largest wholesaling operations in Eastern Canada. Lewisporte prides itself by having a world class marina.
The average price of a home is approximately $65,000.00. The property taxes are on average around $700.00 per year. Lewisporte is becoming a great town to retire in because of its beauty and peaceful environment. |
